Wet weather couldn’t keep this stunning couple from tying the knot. What an awesome day that was enjoyed by everyone. A real Kiwi wedding.

‘Deb is an old colleague of mine from a few years ago, and her wedding was in Tauranga. This was my first wedding where I travelled to another part of the country to photograph a special day.

This wedding was in a country estate just outside of Tauranga and the key element to this was that it was very overcast and raining, which makes the shoot quite challenging.

I was really grateful that Deb and Joe chose to have their wedding outside as opposed to indoors. It was awesome to be able to document that atmosphere.

Like many of the couples I have worked for, they were very willing participants. You can see the love and warmth that they have for each other. The interaction with their family was really important to them, and that really comes through in the photographs.

They received, around 400 edited photos, both in colour, black and white, and high and low resolution. Their favourite shots were just intimate moments of the two of them together.

Again, that's something that's really important for me, to capture those intimate moments, because it makes the day so much more memorable for them.’
